Filtered Reality - Tom Allsop
We all do it. We 'present' what we think is beautiful to the world, in the hope that we might be accepted, validated and approved of - but that is the polar opposite of the gospel.
The true gospel is this: that while we were still sinners, Christ paid the highest price for us, thus abolishing our need to compare ourself to others or present 'perfection' in order to be accepted. We are validated by His approval, not that of others.
The world teaches and conditions us to believe that beauty will result in acceptance.
The gospel demonstrates to us that acceptance by beauty personified, invites us to become beautiful.
